How far along-31 weeks and 1 day...posting a little late this week.
Weight Gain-Still doing well! My weight actually went down this week, which I thought was odd...but in early pregnancy, I would gain a few pounds, then kind of taper off, then gain a few, then taper...my body seems to be going back to that pattern. Total weight gain so far is somewhere between 17 and 18 lbs.
Baby Size-This week, Bean is the size of a pineapple! Eric's comment was, "at least she won't be in the shape of a pineapple when you deliver (ouch!)" Silly man! She weighs somewhere between 3 and 3 1/2 pounds, and is 16-18 inches long. Growing bigger and fatter every day! I am really starting to feel the size of my belly now...it's getting much harder to bend over and move around as quickly as I used to.
Movement-Still kicking up a storm! I read that as baby runs out of room, she may kick less frequently...she must still have plenty of room then because this little girl likes to remind me she's still in there all. the. time. I wonder if she's thinking about her grand entrance yet...like telling me she wants to come out? Hopefully she won't actually make her grand entrance until we're much closer to her due date:)
Sleep-Starting to feel not so rested anymore. Between getting up to go to the bathroom all. the. time! and the heartburn (which I know is getting worse because I'm still taking my Nexium rx AND still getting up in the middle of the night with some heartburn) my sleep is definitely broken. Guess I better get used to it, right? Sometimes I can only lie on one side too because baby girl doesn't like a certain side at night...I can still roll around for now, but am starting to get much more uncomfortable as the weeks wear on.
Feeling-I think my hormones are starting to wreak havoc on me and are making me emotionally unstable. I can go from calm and collected one second, to anxious and stressed the next. I had a rough day yesterday...just felt like I needed to cry all day long. It was so frustrating because I was so frustrated, but could not pinpoint what was causing me to feel that way. It's like a mix of being so happy that everything is going so well with our pregnancy, and worrying about maybe we've had it too good, mixed in with wanting to get everything ready for baby to be here, and being anxious to finally meet our little girl. It's so hard to put into words, or thoughts even. I'm hoping that feeling the way I feel is normal, and that most other first time mothers go through the same thing. I try to talk to Eric about it, and I think he's feeling similarly to me, but doesn't let it show so much...plus since it's so hard to put into words, I just end up sounding like a babbling idiot. I'm hoping the anxiousness subsides sooner, rather than later...
What I miss-Alcohol again. They had sangria at my baby shower on Sunday and it looked so good....the punch was good too, but man what I wouldn't give for a margarita or a drink on a hot day. It's especially bad since I've had last week and this week off at the studio. We've been going out to eat more and I just feel like I should get a drink...only a couple more months I guess, right:)
What I am looking forward to-Two more baby showers to celebrate in a couple weeks, can't wait to put pictures up on the walls of the nursery, and have our 3d ultrasound done (where we can hopefully confirm the sex again...I am so paranoid about that!), making it through September so I can finally say "baby is due at the end of THIS month"...and we have a very special weekend planned this weekend, our baby moon/anniversary trip to Monterey. I am so looking forward to staying at the Monterey Plaza and just relaxing in our ocean view room:)
Milestone/Best moment this week-This week has been packed full of best moments!
1. Our glider finally came in (earlier than expected even), and Eric put that together on Tuesday night.
2. The pictures we had framed at Michael's came back (although one was wrong, so we're still waiting on that one to be done) and they turned out fabulous!
3. We finished taking our childbirth prep class and got to take a tour of El Camino hospital, where we'll be delivering. I think Eric and I both feel much more at ease with the process of where to go and what the environment will be like during labor and delivery...Now if only I could feel more at ease about the actual labor and delivery;)
4. Baby Shower #1 was on Sunday, thrown by the Dynamics captains. It was super fun and they did such a good job with decorations, games, everything! We got A LOT of clothes for baby girl (again, let's hope she actually is a girl!!) along with some other much needed stuff for the nursery. I kept saying that my baby is going to be one of the best dressed babies...she instantly has like 30 aunties to spoil her;) See bonus below for pics from the shower!
To Do-Fill our hospital preregistration paperwork, pick a pediatrician, look over and see if a birth plan is needed, rest as much as I can the rest of this week because the studio opens a week from today!
Food Cravings/Aversions-Same old thing...except the junk food cravings are getting worse!
Bonus-Let the countdown continue....2 months and 1 day OR 8 weeks and 6 days OR 62 days....until Bean is here!
